Police and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 9:40 p.m. Friday May 8, 2020 to a report of vehicle fire in a high-rise building parking garage at 20 East Randolph Street.
A Chicago Fire Department crew on arrival by 9:42 p.m. reported the structure with the vehicle fire was a 12-story parking garage with no residential floors and an unoccupied commercial floor on the first floor.
Engine 13’s crew on arrival inside the parking garage reported they were hooking up to the standpipe and that the vehicle fire was on the third floor.
A Still and Box Alarm with an EMS Plan 1 was activated at 9:50 p.m.
The fire was declared out by 9:56 p.m. Firefighters on the deck report there are very few vehicles on the parking deck. Battalion 1, Engine 13 and Truck 6 were the primary units fighting the fire.
The Still and Box was struck out and the EMS Plan 1 was secured by 10:01 p.m.
