Chaos filled Minneapolis streets for a fourth night, not even the first night of an 8 p.m. curfew could prevent it, Jennifer Mayerle reports (CBSN Minnesota/WCCO 4 News).
After four nights of rioting with arson and looting, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) announced that a total of 1700 soldiers from the National Guard would be deployed to restore peace in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Military Police from the US Army may also be deployed.
Additional commercial buildings and a US Post Office were torched Friday night. Local business as well as major retail chains have been attacked by rioters. Saturday morning officials were claiming that the offenders with no regard for life and property were outsiders who arrived recently in Minneapolis.
Explosive devices were thrown against police overnight Friday/Saturday.
