Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 12:32 a.m. Sunday, April 26, 2020 to a report of smoke in an attached garage in the block of 1500 North Evergreen Avenue.
Firefighters on arrival reported no smoke showing, and checked the house for smoke. No smoke was found, but a thermal camera discovered heat in a wall near an outlet in the garage.
Firefighters charged a hose line, opened the wall near the outlet about 1:08 a.m. and extinguished a small fire behind the wall by a fireplace about 1:15 a.m.
Firefighters continued to check for extension near the fire.
