Get ready for good weather — all upper 50s and above for daily highs the next seven days. Low Pressure is departing the area and precipitation is done, but about 3 inches of rain has fallen in Arlington Heights since about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2020. As the prolonged weather system departs, the rain is finished, there is diminishing areal flood threat, gusty north winds to 40 MPH will persist all day and through the evening, and high waves will continue to flood the Lake Michigan shoreline.
High winds and sunny skies should help dry the ground surface as the sky clears rapidly after 2:00 p.m. The improvement Thursday afternoon will lead to a beautiful day Friday with mostly sunny skies, and very light north winds with a high about 64°F. Saturday will be even better with a high of 75°F with southeast winds.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows very light, diminishing precipitation patterns all Thursday morning.
A handful of rainfall tallies since Tue p.m. from various sources, some unofficial. Highest are in northern & northwestern Chicago suburbs. More to be shared later this morning.
