Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 2:39 p.m. Tuesday April 21, 2020 to a report of a gas leak after a residential gas meter was hit by a vehicle on the driveway in the block of 200 South Mitchell Avenue in Arlington Heights.
Nicor was immediately requested to the scene. Winds were reported to be from the Northwest at 14 MPH.
Firefighters were able to shut down the gas leak by 2:46 p.m., but Nicor was need to respond to repair or replace the gas meter.
Streets in the area were blocked for a short period of time.
