Snow scenes and Grandt’s Shell near Recreation Park during the first ‘Rush Hour’ during the Illinois Stay at Home Order in Arlington Heights.
A quiet Monday on March 23, 2020 during the first business day of the Coronavirus Stay-at-Home Order in the State of Illinois. A beautiful snowfall that stuck to tree branches added to the serenity early Monday morning.
Air traffic is light but FlightRadar24.com captured a Boeing 747-867(F) Cathay Pacific Cargo aircraft flying over Arlington Heights at about 12:35 p.m. The jet freighter took off from O’Hare’s Runway 28R and flew over Arlington Heights at an altitude of about 5,250 feet at about 12:35 p.m. The Boeing 747 was over central Wisconsin at an altitude of 36,000 feet by 1:00 p.m.
As expected, it appeared cargo freighters were busier than usual during the day. At lunch time, most or all aircraft appeared to be approaching O’Hare from the east. Boeing 747 freighters also in our skies at noon and early afternoon were Kalitta Air (from Anchorage), Atlas Air (to Los Angeles), and Nippon Cargo (from Anchorage).
You can find pre-set maps on your own at Arlingtoncardinal.com/flightradar24. Look for flightradar24 DIRECT for direct maps to O’Hare, Midway, Chicago Executive, and DuPage.
If you have extra time on your hands during the Coronavirus shutdown, you can check what aircraft just flew overhead, or just check how busy the skies are at any moment.
