Kohl’s Corp. is closing all stores nationwide at 7:00 p.m. local time Thursday, March 19, 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a statement by CEO Michelle Gass in a news release, “To demonstrate our support of the efforts underway to contain the spread of the coronavirus, we are closing all Kohl’s stores through at least April 1, 2020”
Kohl’s will support store associates with two calendar weeks of pay, according to Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass.
“We will continue to serve customers on Kohls.com and our Kohl’s App, and we look forward to reopening our stores soon to serve families across the country.”

On Tuesday March 17, 2020, Kohl’s had announced that it would reduce store hours to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The retailer had also reported it experienced “softening” sales in its stores because of the outbreak late last week. At that time, it said online sales had not been affected.
