Police and firefighter/paramedics from Barrington Countryside FPD responded about 5:56 a.m. Monday March 9, 2020 to a large mulch fire at Down to Earth Landscaping, 15N365 Old Sutton Road.
UPDATE: BOTH MABAS BOX ALARMS STRUCK OUT BY EAST DUNDEE FPD AT 9:20 AM.
Old Sutton Road is possibly blocked between Penny Road and Higgins Road.
A MABAS Division 2 Box Alarm for Tenders (Tankers) was activated to the Second Alarm at 6:18 a.m. Firefighters staffing Tenders from Bartlett, Countryside, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, McHenry, Nunda, Prospect Heights, Rutland-Dundee, South Elgin, and Wauconda responded mutual aid to assist Barrington-Countryside firefighters.
Another MABAS Box Division 2 Box Alarm for Fire Engines and Trucks was activated at 6:40 a.m. Firefighters from Hanover Park, Lake Zurich, Schaumburg, St. Charles, and Wauconda were assigned to the scene. Firefighters and paramedics from Burlington, Carpentersville, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Streamwood were assigned to stand by in nearby fire stations.
Winds were recorded from the Southwest at 18 MPH, gusting to 32 MPH at 5:51 a.m. at the National Weather Service station at O’Hare International Airport.
