The National Weather Service has lower than average confidence in the upcoming potential winter storm, while significant wet snowfall is possible. Currently there is lower than average confidence regarding the placement of a heavy snow band that is forecast to develop Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening. Currently the heavy snow band is forecast over Lake County and McHenry County and not northern Cook County.
