Police and firefighter/paramedics from Deerfield responded about 12:08 p.m. Tuesday February 2020 to an activated fire alarm for an apartment in the block of 400 Kelburn Road. At 12:10 p.m. a caller reported smoke in the building.
Engine 20’s crew on arrival reported nothing showing at 12:12 p.m. but then reported a confirmed fire in a second floor apartment, and that they were going offensive at 12:13 p.m.
Deerfield crews were able to handle the fire without mutual aid assistance. The fire was also stopped by the apartment unit’s sprinkler system. All searches were cleared, and loss stopped was reported by 12:30 p.m.
