Police from Arlington Heights responded about 9:15 p.m Friday January 31, 2020 to a report of a theft at Bank of America at Algonquin Road and Golf Road. This is possibly a theft related to an ATM machine. There have been theft crews hitting ATMs, operating in the City of Chicago, but they may have moved out to the suburbs because of extra heat by Chicago PD and the FBI in the Chicago.
The suspect or suspects were at large, but was/were not initially described.
Police were also on the scene at Lowe’s at 990 West Algonquin Road — possibly canvassing for security video and other investigative operations.
Arlington Heights Police Department began investigating the case last night, and it is possible that the FBI is involved in the investigation or leading the investigation.
Arlington Heights police, assisted by Rolling Meadows police (possibly K-9) set up a perimeter in the area, especially in the Surrey Ridge neighborhood north of Lowe’s and Bank of America.
Police cars were patrolling and were stationary in the neighborhood. Police also deployed a drone with an infrared camera, which was flying good distances across the neighborhood.
The information in this article is an early report published before any summary information was confirmed or released by police authorities.
