Police and firefighter/paramedics from Woodstock responded about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 100 North Street in Woodstock.
Firefighters on arrival reported a basement fire with a floor collapse. All firefighters were ordered out of the building and were operating in defensive mode by about 7:51 p.m.
A MABAS Division 5 Box Alarm (5-30) was activated by 7:50 p.m. Woodstock firefighters were assisted by crews and/or chiefs from Cary, Harvard, McHenry, and Nunda.
Wind at the National Weather Station at De Kalb Taylor Municipal Airport at 7:55 p.m. was from the West at 12 MPH with air temperature at 32°F. Winds are forecast to continue from the West or West-Northwest at 10 MPH with gusts to 17 MPH for the next several hours. Air Temperature is forecast to hold at 31-32°F overnight.
