Elmhurst police responded about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 to an armed robbery at the Shell gas station at 301 West Butterfield Road.
Elmhurst police are hunting for three men who held up a Shell gas station at gunpoint Tuesday morning at 301 W. Butterfield Road.
Police arrived to learn that an employee was inside the store about 5:45 a.m. when three male offenders entered that gas station’s convenience store. One of the offenders displayed a black handgun and pushed the clerk into a back room while the other two offenders took money from the cash register and took cartons of cigarettes.
No injuries were initially reported.
Police officer, including a K-9 Unit searched the area near the gas station. Tire tracks were discovered in fresh snow in a rear alley that connects to Butterfield Road. Evidence technicians and detectives were checking any possible security cameras in the area.
The suspects were described as follows …
Suspect #1 was a male/black armed with a gun, wearing a dark or gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, black gloves and a black mask that partially covered his face.
Suspect #2 was a male/black, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gloves and a black mask.
Suspect #3 was a male/black, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black mask.
Any citizens or businesses with video in the area of the Shell station or with any information about the robbery is urged to call police at 630-530-3050.
Three male/black offenders were involved in a retail theft of alcohol valued at $2,000 at the Jewel-Osco at 8:30 a.m. on Monday December 30, 2019. The Jewel-Osco is less than one mile east of the Shell gas station at Butterfield Road and Spring Road.
