Arlington Heights police arrested a suspected DUI driver about 12:10 AM Sunday December 1, 2019 after a rear-end crash occurred at Arlington Heights Road and Elk Grove Township Drive Arlington Heights, IL. Police transported the male driver of a Lexus SUV in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s Lexus SUV was towed to a police holding area.
A sedan was rear-ended by the driver of the Lexus. Neither driver initially reported any injuries. The sedan was severely damage in the rear-end of the vehicle. The Lexus SUV had moderate front-end damage.
After a wedding at a nearby banquet hall, the driver of the Lexus had asked a female passenger if she could drive. She said she had too much to drink to drive safely, and declined driving the Lexus.
Both vehicles were in the southbound direction prior to the crash. The vehicles were pulled off the roadway in the Elk Grove Township parking lot before they were towed away.
