Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 7:26 a.m to a report that pedestrian was hit by a Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line.
UPDATE: Metra police and Union Pacific railroad workers removed the victim’s body and personal belongings by about 9:42 a.m., and allowed passengers on the boarding platform after the removal. Inbound Metra trains had been passing the station but were not stopping. The next train at the station stopped at 9:48 a.m. and passengers boarded the train at Arlington Park. The train that hit the passenger remained stopped just east of the station, blocking Wilke Road.
Halted Metra train at Arlington Park cleared the scene by 9:57 a.m. and Wilke Road was re-opened.
Police and firefighter/paramedics on arrival discovered a victim deceased near the train station.
The Metra train is stopped just east of the station, and is blocking Wilke Road at Northwest Highway.
