A 68-year-old Park City woman was stabbed, beaten and killed early Tuesday morning December 3, 2019, according to the Lake County coroner. Her identity was released as Nancy Wilcox. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Her car was missing from the driveway.
The coroner’s office was called to a Park City manufactured home in the block of 3100 7th Street at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday for a death investigation. Park City police officers and Gurnee Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene about 12:30 a.m. when a roommate found Nancy Wilcox bleeding and not breathing.
Police say a relative, Jeffery Michael Thrall, who has no permanent address, was arrested after he was found inside the Nancy Wilcox’s vehicle at a service station near Green Bay Road and Sunset Avenue in Waukegan.
Jeffery Michael Thrall, age 60, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and held on $5 million bail, according to a statement from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. Thrall’s next schedule court date is scheduled in Lake County Circuit Court on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
An autopsy was performed on Nancy Wilcox at 9:15 a.m. “The preliminary autopsy results indicated she died of multiple sharp and blunt force injuries,” according to Lake County Coroner Dr. However Cooper. The Lake County Coroner’s office has been “in close contact with Ms. Wilcox’s family,” according to Dr. Cooper.
Routine toxicology results are pending, and the investigation into Wilcox’s death continues by the coroner’s office, the Park City Police Department and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
