Jeffery Michael Thrall, 60, who was recently released from jail, was arrested early Tuesday after he was discovered to be a suspect in the stabbing death of his older female relative. The female victim was found dead in her manufactured home in the block of 3100 7th Street in Park City about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019.
Police say Jeffery Michael Thrall, who has no permanent address, was arrested after he was found inside the dead woman’s vehicle at a service station in Waukegan.
Park City police and Gurnee firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday December 3, 2019 to a report by a roommate that a woman was found bleeding and not breathing on the floor of the manufactured home in the block of 3100 7th Street. The 68-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators discovered that the woman’s vehicle was missing from the driveway. A description of the vehicle was broadcast as an area-wide police alert, and police found the vehicle in Waukegan. Police reported to the public earlier Tuesday that a person of interest in connection with the homicide investigation was found inside the vehicle at the service station at Green Bay Road and Sunset Avenue.
The investigation discovered that the person of interest was Jeffrey M. Thrall, who was recently released from the Lake County jail after having served almost one year on a previous charge. Investigators believe he traveled to his relative’s home and stabbed her. The relative’s identity was not initially released.
Jeffery Michael Thrall was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and held on $5 million bail, according to a statement from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. Thrall’s next schedule court date is in Lake County Circuit Court on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
