Chicago police responded about 4:25 a.m. Monday December 23, 2019 to a report that an offender took a female victim’s 2018 Honda Fit in the block of 3300 North Seeley Avenue in a Roscoe Village residential neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the 27-year-old female victim was parking her 2018 Honda Fit when she was approached by a male offender in his early 20s, who was pretending to be lost.
Police said the offender was having a conversation with the victim when he displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s cell phone and vehicle. The woman gave up her phone and car and the suspect fled north on Seeley Avenue.
The woman did not initially report any injuries. Area North detectives are investigating. No suspect was initially in custody, and the Honda Fit was not immediately recovered.
