Crystal Lake police responded about 9:18 p.m. Thursday October 31, 2019 to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the Mobil gas station, 250 North Route 31 in Crystal Lake. Police received a woman entered the store, showed a “suspected” handgun, and demanded money from the cashier, according to Crystal Lake police.
The female suspect fled the store without any cash or merchandise when she heard an alarm activate; and was seen on foot northbound from the scene at the southwest corner of Route 31 and Route 176.
No injuries were initially reported.
The suspect is described as a female/white woman, age 20-30, 5’ 5” approximately 200 LBS wearing a blue jacket over a darker blue sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes. Initially, a description of the handgun was not described.
