Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:31 a.m. Saturday November 23, 2019 to a report of two people injured in an altercation in the block of 300 Arbor Glen Boulevard. The caller, Anthony R. Prate, age 55 (born July 30, 1964), advised that he and his girlfriend had a physical altercation with a knife, and that both were injured. Schaumburg police officers entered the residence, secured the scene, and discovered a deceased female victim who had been stabbed multiple times.
The Schaumburg Police Investigations Division was assigned to initiate a death investigation. Anthony R. Prate, was transported by Schaumburg Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to a local hospital for injuries to his hands and arms. He was subsequently released and taken into custody for further questioning.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy later on Sunday, November 24, 2019 and ruled the cause of death as a homicide resulting from more than 20 cutting injuries. The female victim was identified as Malgorzata (Margaret) Daniel, age 48 (born June 10, 1971). She was a resident at the address on Arbor Glen Boulevard, Schaumburg, IL.
The facts of the case were reviewed by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and a First Degree Murder (Class X Felony) charge was approved against Anthony Prate, a resident in the block of 1400 Spring Hill Drive in Algonquin. Prate is scheduled to appear at the Cook County Circuit Court Third Municipal District Rolling Meadows Courthouse for a bond hearing on Monday, November 25, 2019.
