[No scene images] A 23-year-old man has been charged with stabbing another man in the chest in northwest suburban Crystal Lake on Tuesday morning. CBS Chicago’s Katie Johnston reports.
Crystal Lake police responded about 7:30 am. Tuesday November 12, 2019 to a report of a man armed with knife in a disturbance in the block of 500 Devonshire Lane near US 14.
Police discovered a 30-year-old male victim with a single stab wound to his chest. Crystal Lake firefighter/paramedics were dispatched to provide emergency medical care to the victim, who was described as having an injury that was not initially believed to be life-threatening. The victim was transported to an area hospital.
David Lepey, age 23, who had been described as “acting abnormal and armed with a knife” shortly before 7:30 a.m., was arrested at the scene. Lepey was transported to the McHenry County jail and held pending a hearing on his bond. He was charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery.
The stabbing was the result of a domestic incident according to Crystal Lake Police Department, declaring there is no danger to the public from this incident.
Crystal Lake Police Department is continuing with an active investigation.
