Chicago police responded about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday November 20, 2019 to a report that store security was attempting to detain a man suspected of shoplifting at the Jewel-Osco store.
When Chicago police officers arrived, they saw a male adult, age 55, suffering a medical emergency. Officers performed CPR and requested Chicago Fire Department paramedics respond to the scene. Paramedics treated the man with Advanced Life Support and continued CPR but the man was eventually pronounced dead.
Chicago Police Department Area North Detectives are investigating the case.
