Anatoliy Ermak, the suspect wanted in a Buffalo Grove double homicide at Cambridge on the Lake condominiums on Sunday night November 17, 2019 shot himself Friday night November 22, 2019 during a standoff with Edina police in the suburb of Edina just southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Edina police officers responded about 8:02 p.m. Friday to a report that neighbor(s) spotted a vehicle that matched the vehicle that Anatoliy Ermak used the night of the double homicide of Ermak’s ex-wife Nataliya Ermak, age 55, and her husband, Roman Frid, age 69. According to police, the suspect’s vehicle — a rented white Nissan Versa with Florida license plates — was spotted Friday night in the block of 6600 Vernon Ave in Edina, parked outside the suspect’s known address.

Police upon arrival discovered the suspect was still inside the vehicle, and set up a perimeter as a standoff developed. Anatolia Ermak was taken into custody after he apparently shot himself inside the vehicle. Edina police officers were attempting to negotiate a safe surrender by Anatoliy Ermak for about 90 minutes before Ermak shot himself, according to Kaylin Eidsness, public information officer (PIO) for the Edina Police Department.
Ermak was transported by Edina Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he was listed in critical condition. No other injuries were reported as a result of the standoff, located about 400 miles away from the double homicide crime scene in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Buffalo Grove police had said late Monday night November 18, 2019 that Anatoliy Ermak, age 64, was wanted in connection with the homicides of a man and woman in a parking garage at the Cambridge on the Lake condominium complex, 150 Lake Boulevard, Buffalo Grove on Sunday November 17, 2019 about 8:00 p.m. Their bodies were discovered in the parking garage about 11:30 p.m.

Authorities released the names of the victims as Nataliya Ermak, age 55, and her husband, Roman Frid, age 69 about noon Tuesday November 19, 2019. Police also revealed that they discovered Anatoliy Ermak and Nataliya Ermak were divorced several years ago.
Anatoliy Ermak and Nataliya Ermak, are former Wheeling residents, who lived in a house less than one-half mile south of the crime scene at a Cambridge on the Lake lower level parking garage.
Anatolia Ermak recently lived in Minnesota, and Nataliya Ermak and her husband Roman Frid lived at a Cambridge on the Lake condominium.
