The Tesla Cybertruck was announced with three versions, starting at $39,900 to $49,900 and $69,900.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk just unveiled the Cybertruck on Thursday November 21, 2019, the company’s first electric pickup truck. Musk introduced three versions of the truck, featuring 250 miles, 300 miles, or 500 miles of range — with a variety of towing capacities and 0-60 mph capabilities. Musk unveiled the truck at a cyberpunk-inspired event with many, many lasers, and even a surprise ATV.
Tesla Stock — TSLA. A wide range of reactions, from an ugly joke (uglier than the DeLorean) to the beginning of a trend. Jim Cramer doesn’t like it, and called it a “stillborn” Friday morning on CNBC. Cramer was so anti-Cybertruck … maybe he wants Tesla stock to go down so he can but it?
The most expensive version of the truck, the Tri Motor All-Wheel-Drive, will be able to carry 3,500 pounds, tow up to 14,000 pounds and go from zero to 60 in 2.9 seconds. It will also be able to drive up to 500 miles on a full charge. Base models will have a range of 250 miles.
The design of the truck puts the load on the outside exoskeleton instead of the inner frame. The exoskeleton is extremely hard steel, and can withstand the swing of a sledgehammer.
On-road performance was a big surprise …
0-60 in 2.9 seconds
1/4 mile in 10.8 seconds
“Corner like it’s on rails.”
In a towing tug-of-war demonstration, the Tesla Cybertruck overpowered a Ford F-150 while driving uphill. In a street race demonstration on video, the Cybertruck overtook a Porsche.
Off-Road performance is also exceptional, according to Elon Musk …

One concern is how much damage this tough vehicle will do to other vehicles, other vehicle passengers, and passengers in the event of a crash.
The Verge: Mashing up Blade Runner vibes with range and performance, the truck is already one of the company’s most polarizing products.
