TEMPS IN UPPER 30s AT TONIGHT’S FOOTBALL GAMES, FREEZE WARNINGS NEARBY
Northeast Illinois is being affected by the first autumn cyclone and a cold front that is moving in from the west. Temperatures have already dropped from the 60s early this morning to the low 50s by noon. Arlington Heights and neighboring suburbs are forecast to see 44°F by 5:00 p.m. and 39°F by 9:00 p.m. Saturday morning is forecast to hit a lot of 33°F from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and a wind chill low of 24°F about 7:00 a.m. Wind gusts are expected to peak from the west at 30 MPH from about 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday. Wind gusts are forecast to stop by midnight Friday/Saturday and pick up again (SW 33 MPH) from 8:00 a.m. Saturday through Sunday as the cyclone departs eastward from the area.
A Freeze Warning was activated by the NWS for communities as close as Cary, Crystal Lake, Spring Grove, McHenry, Woodstock, South Elgin, St Charles, Oswego, Aurora, Batavia, and Streator to the south. No Freeze Warnings in Lake County, Illinois.
