IMAGES OF SUSPECT FROM SECURITY VIDEO
Police from Arlington Heights responded just after 3:15 p.m. Tuesday September 24, 2019 to a report that a male offender used a counterfeit $100 bill at about 3:15 p.m. to pay for a much smaller value of frozen yogurt.
The offender appeared friendly and handed the cashier a $100 bill. The offender accepted change of a large amount in cash and rapidly left the store.
The fake $100 bill was brought to a nearby bank, where it was confirmed that the bill was a counterfeit $100 bill, according to the Berry Yo frozen yogurt store.
The information in this article is an early report published before any summary information was confirmed or released by police or fire authorities.
Passing counterfeit money does not confirm guilt involved in the production of counterfeit money or even awareness by the suspect that a counterfeit bill was used. However, police in these situations want to investigate the suspect to determine the source of the counterfeit money.
