A police administer employee with 20 years experience and who worked in the intelligence unit at Paris police headquarters, is reported to have attacked colleagues with a ceramic knife and killed four people. He was shot and killed at the scene. Paris police report the offender had no previously-known problems.
Police union official Loic Travers told reporters that a knife attack appeared to have started in an office in the Paris police headquarters, which is across the street from Notre Dame Cathedral. The area of the police facility where the attack occurred is not open to the public.
