Chicago police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 9:05 p.m. Friday September 13, 2019 when a man and two women were shot the block of 3600 South Indiana Avenue between 36th Place and 37th Street.
A 22 year-old man was killed at the scene when he was shot in the head. One woman, age 22, was shot in the foot and another woman, age 18, was shot in the lower back or buttocks.
A preliminary investigation by police discovered that a 22-year-old man was walking with two woman, aged 18 and 22, in the block of 3600 South Indiana Avenue when a shooter approached them and opened fire.
Michael Serrano, 22, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-year-old woman was transported “Code Red” by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Level I Trauma Center University of Chicago Medical Center. Her condition was defined as “stabilized.” The 22-year-old woman was transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Mercy Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
No suspects were in custody Friday night. Area Central is investigating the shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood southeast of Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.
