Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:20 PM Monday, September 16, 2019 to report of a serious motorcycle crash near Dundee Road and Wilke Road.
UPDATE: A 36 year-old Arlington Heights man died after suffering serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:26 p.m. Monday September 16, 2019 at Northwest Community Hospital.
The crash was a one-vehicle crash that occurred about halfway between Wilke Road and Route 53. A motorcyclist ran off the road from the westbound lanes of Dundee Road into a grass embankment. Arlington Heights police stated that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The motorcyclist was treated by firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights and Palatine fire departments, and transported to a hospital that was not specified by police.
The motorcyclist’s name and other identifiers were withheld by Arlington Heights police initially until the motorcyclist’s family were provided with a notification about the crash.
The westbound lanes of Dundee Road were closed at Wilke Road for an extended crash investigation until about 7:45 PM Monday. However, police were still working at the scene past 8:15 PM.
