Four Hurt in Wrong-Way Head-on Crash on Golf Rd East of Route 53; One Transported to Level I Trauma Center

Wrong-way head-on crash requiring extrication of two patients; four people injured on Golf Road just east of Route 53 in Rolling Meadows.

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:45 p.m. Monday September 2, 2019 to a report of a head-on crash at Golf Road and Ring Road in Rolling Meadows.

Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find two vehicles crashed head-on in the eastbound lanes of Golf Road about 670 feet east of Route 53. One person was extricated from a Chevrolet Impala at about 8:03 p.m. A second person was extricated from a silver Hyundai Santa Fe by about 8:20 p.m. Four ambulances were assigned to the crash. Two patients were transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights and one patient was transported to Amita Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, all initially believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. The patient in the Hyundai Santa Fe was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

No charges were initially filed as Rolling Meadows police are continuing to investigate the crash. The Speed Limit at the stretch of road where the crash occurred is 45 MPH.
