Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedic‘s responded about 9:39 AM Tuesday, August 13, 20192 to Meadow Lane just north of Kirchoff Road for a semi trailer truck that hit some low lines and snapped a utility pole and a half.
At least one caller to 911 reported a flash at a transformer or a line flash during the crash. The truck driver got out of the vehicle safely but Meadow Lane was closed for two or more hours while ComEd replaced the utility pole.
ComEd reported about 558 customers were without power in the area. A couple of residents also reported a momentary loss of power. The initial estimate for restoration of power was at 11:45 AM, which was reported at 10:21 AM.
