Naperville police responded about 11:00 p.m. Friday August 9, 2019 to a report of an attempted kidnapping of a boy from a car parked on Aurora Avenue near Rotary Hill Park on Aurora Avenue — also near Naperville Central High School.
Police learned that the boy and his mother had returned to their vehicle about 11:00 p.m. in the block of 400 Aurora Avenue after attending a screening of “Ant-Man and The Wasp” at Rotary Hill park.
According to a report received by Naperville police, an unknown male offender approached the vehicle, opened the rear door, and tried to pull the boy out of the vehicle. After failing to get the boy out of the vehicle, the offender fled northbound on foot.
Police immediately began a search for the male suspect, and are continuing to search for the male offender.
The suspect was described as a male/white, in his 20s with a thin build and blonde hair, wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts, according to Naperville police.
The boy and his mother were not injured in the attempted kidnapping, police said. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6666.
