Chicago police said a woman was sexually assaulted in the 100 block of East Randolph, not far from Millennium Park.
Chicago police received a report Tuesday morning July 9, 2019 that a woman was robbed on a CTA Red Line platform and then sexually assaulted after she chased the offender near Millennium Park.
The incident happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday after the victim exited a CTA Red Line train near State and Lake and was walking past the Daley Plaza near Dearborn and Washington. The unknown male offender grabbed her cell phone and ran.
The woman chased the offender — leading to a staircase at the Millennium Park parking garage in the block of 100 East Randolph, near Randolph and Michigan. The male offender is reported to have forced the woman into a stairwell of the Millennium Park parking garage, and sexually assaulted her in the stairwell.
The woman was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was described in “stable” condition.
No suspects are in custody, and police have not released a description of the suspect. Area Central detectives are investigating.
