A male offender, age 43 of Abrams, Wisconsin, was arrested accused of sexually abusing a girl at her grandparents’ house in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Scott A. McFaul was charged this week with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor and sexual exploitation of a child. McFaul is accused of abusing the about 10 times since 2014, when the girl was 5 years-old. The abuse allegedly began during family gatherings in September 2014 at a residence in Arlington Heights, according to Arlington Heights police. The suspect, Scott A. McFaul was the boyfriend of a family member.
The victim, now 10 years-old, reported the abuse in April 2019 to her mother, who contacted Palatine police. The case was referred to the Arlington Heights Police Department because the alleged crimes occurred in Arlington Heights jurisdiction.
Arlington Heights police secured an arrest warrant for Scott A. McFaul, who was detained at the Oconto County, Wisconsin. Arlington Heights police transported McFaul for extradition to Cook County on Tuesday July 16, 2019. McFaul’s initial appearance at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows was Thursday July 18, 2019. Bond was set at $75,000.
McFaul’s next scheduled court date is Thursday August 15, 2019.
