Gurnee police responded to six residential burglaries Friday July 5, 2019 that were reported to have occurred overnight Thursday night July 4, 2019 to Friday morning Friday July 5, 2019. All of the victims’ homes were within close proximity in the Stonebrook neighborhood. Wallets and purses were removed from the interior of each home.
In all of these cases, entry was made through unlocked back doors or open garage doors. Security video provided by a neighbor shows a male attempting to open their rear sliding glass door. The rear door was locked and the male walked away from the home. The subject in the video and the method of entry into these homes was similar to residential burglaries that occurred in May 2019.
Gurnee police are requesting help from the community in identifying this individual.

Alternately those with information can anonymously call Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222. Your information may lead to a cash reward.

Gurnee Police Security Tips
Residents are encouraged to secure the doors leading to the interior of their homes. This includes front doors, back doors, garage doors and the door leading from the garage to the inside of the home.
Lighting around the exterior of a home is highly recommended. It remains the most effective night time crime prevention technique that can be employed. Residents should call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
