A Barrington Countryside Fire Protection rescue ambulance crew discovered a vehicle vs motorcycle crash on Route 22 east of Route 14 near Ski Hill Road about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday June 18, 2019. Paramedics immediately administered aid at the scene, and reported the motorcyclist was in traumatic cardiac arrest. Fox River Grove crews were dispatched, and additional Barrington-Countryside crews were also dispatched.
A Flight For Life medical helicopter was requested to the scene and landed at a Landing Zone that was set up at the Algonquin Road Elementary School about one mile southeast of the scene. By the time the motorcyclist was transferred by ambulance to the Flight for Life helicopter, chest compression were no longer necessary. The Flight for Life crew transported their patient to Level I Trauma Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Route 22 was closed from Route 14 to Ski Hill Road in Fox River Grove during the crash and investigation. The Lake County Sheriff’s traffic crash investigative team conducted an extended crash investigation Tuesday afternoon.
