Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:42 p.m. Saturday June 22, 2019 to a report of a serious-injury crash at Central Road and New Wilke Road. Police requested a second ambulance by 9:46 p.m. before the first firefighter/paramedics arrived.
The driver of a Honda Civic was found in the passenger seat, after the impact of the car moved him out of his driver’s seat. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and suffered serious head injuries.
Police said the driver of the Honda Civic is a 52-year-old man from Rolling Meadows, and was listed in critical condition after transportation to Northwest Community Hospital. A married couple from Rolling Meadows were the occupants of the Jeep, and suffered minor injuries, according to police.
Police reported the male driver of the Honda Civic, failing to yield, made a left turn from eastbound Central to northbound New Wilke Road when his Honda Civic collided with the westbound Jeep.
Police said that the driver of the Honda Civic was impaired, but the crash is under investigation, and no charges or citations were initially issued.
