Highland Park police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:29 AM Saturday June 1, 2019 to a report of a crash with injuries in the northbound lanes near Target https://goo.gl/maps/EGx4UupSLnQ9No147 (Route 41 and Park Avenue Highland Park, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a police vehicle was involved in the crash.
The crash involved a Highland Park police SUV that was rear-ended by a small crossover or mini-SUV. A female driver who hit the police SUV, may have been injured, and was evaluated by firefighter/paramedics. No injuries initially reported to any police officers.
There is an extended accident investigation at the scene Saturday morning.
The crash was located between Target and Starbucks, and the northbound lanes were blocked during the crash investigation. The Google Maps traffic layer for the area showed that northbound Route 41 north of Park Avenue was blocked at 6:30 a.m.
North of the crash site, the Speed Limit is posted at 50 MPH. There is no Speed Limit sign posted for northbound traffic just north of Park Avenue, according to the Google Maps Street View imaging as of November 2018.
