CBS Chicago: Crews battled a fire that broke out in Mount Prospect on Tuesday.
Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:20 PM Tuesday June 18, 2019 to a report of a house fire on Green Lane near Green Lane and Horner Lane Mount Prospect, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that smoke and flames were seen at a house.
Police and firefighters reporting smoke showing upon arrival. The fire response was immediately upgraded to a Code 4.
There are possibly one or two people injured in the house fire. Injuries are initially believed to be minor.
The fire was reported in an attic, and firefighters needed to go to defensive mode — fighting the fire from exterior positions only — at least twice. Three sections of the roof of the home were reported partially collapsed at about 1:05 p.m.
A MABAS Box Alarm was requested for extra firefighters and equipment at 1:10 p.m.
The fire was declared knocked at about 1:25 p.m.
