Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:31 PM Monday May 20, 2019 to a report that a woman was choked by a male, who also took her cell phone.
UPDATE: Schaumburg police report that the call is under investigation as a possible domestic violence case, and was NOT a Strong Arm Robbery. Arlington Cardinal initially incorrectly categorized the call as a Strong Arm Robbery.
The scene of the incident was in the general area, but the offense did not occur at the former Dominick’s parking lot.
No offender description was available, and it was initially unknown whether the victim knew the alleged offender.
The crime scene was either near the old Dominick’s location or further south in the block of 300 South Roselle Road.
NOTE:
The information in this article was an early report published before any information was confirmed or released by police or fire authorities.
The initial article in the opening sentence reported a strong arm robbery occurred at or near the old Dominick’s location. The Strong Arm Robbery classification in the opening sentence was removed to reduce confusion about this case.
