Two Hurt, One of Them Critical in Hit-and-Run Crash Involving Motorcycle, Outbound Dan Ryan Near 63rd St, Chicago

Illinois State Police and Chicago firefighters and paramedics responded responded about 12:20 a.m. Friday May 24, 2019 to a downed motorcycle and two riders injured after a hit-and-run crash on the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) near 63rd Street.

Two CFD ambulances (Ambulance 96 and Ambulance 1) were dispatched to the scene with Engine 84 and Truck 51 crews. A male motorcyclist, age 27, was transported Code Red with extra personnel on ambulances to Level I Trauma Center University of Chicago Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition. A female passenger, age 27, with non-life threatening injuries on the motorcycle was also transported to University of Chicago Medical Center.

Illinois State police reported the initial crash involved up-to three vehicles. One of those vehicles spun around from the impact, and hit the motorcycle. The driver that caused the crash did not stop. Initially there was no description of the hit-and-run vehicle. Illinois State police are investigating the crash.
