Lincolnshire police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:26 PM Thursday May 23, 2019 to a report of two people unconscious and breathing from a possible chlorine or pool chemical exposure at a condominium pool house, 445 Village Green Lincolnshire, Il. Firefighter/paramedics were immediately working on ventilation. Initially there was no confirmation of the number injured or the conditions of any patients.
UDPATE: A male and female were found unresponsive but breathing at the community pool on the property. Both victims were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where they were listed in serious condition.
Several police officers and firefighter/paramedics were evaluated for chemical exposure, and residents in the immediate area of the pool were given a shelter in place order to stay indoors with windows closed and ventilation systems off.
Initial investigation of the hazardous materials incident indicates the cause was possibly a chlorine or carbon monoxide leak from recent pool service.
Lincolnshire activated a Life Safety Box Alarm (MABAS DIVISION 3 LIFE SAFETY BOX ALARM ON BOX #5199) at 2:50 p.m.
A Hazmat Box Alarm (BOX #5140) for the hazmat incident was activated at 2:57 p.m.
