Union firefighter/paramedics and McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 1:41 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2019 to a report that a man was trapped under a large tree that fell on his excavator in the block of 8100 Leech Road in unincorporated Union.
Upon arrival firefighter/paramedics and sheriff’s deputies found an excavator under a fallen tree with a man dead at the scene.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office released that a 58-year-old Rochelle man died Saturday after a large tree fell on his excavator while he was working on an excavation job. There was nothing suspicious about the incident, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. The identity of the man was not initially released.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
