North Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:00 p.m. Friday March 29, 2019 to a report of a crash with entrapment at the intersection of Route 137 and Route 43 in North Chicago.
According to a release, the Lake County Coroner’s office was notified and responded to the scene at 1:06 p.m. Friday for a death investigation at the crash scene.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the crash victim as 23-year-old Rebecca Heraver, of Gurnee. “The preliminary autopsy results indicate she died of multiple injuries due to a motor vehicle crash,” according to Dr. Howard Cooper, Lake County Coroner.
The investigation by the North Chicago Police Department, the Major Crash Assistance Team, and the Coroner’s office is ongoing. Toxicology tests are also underway.
