Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies and Lake Villa FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:16 a.m. Thursday April 4, 2019 to a report from a man that said his pregnant girlfriend’s water had broken and her contractions were timed close together.
Sheriff’s Deputy Lorne White was first on the scene at the residence eight minutes later and assisted with the delivery.
The baby was delivered as paramedics arrived.
The baby and his mother both are doing well, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Benjamin Johnstone Crawford weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.
The Lake County sheriff’s office shared the good news Thursday afternoon on Facebook and Twitter.
“Early this morning, Deputy Lorne White responded to an ambulance call. Little did he know he would be assisting in delivering a baby!”
