Arlington Heights police responded about 10:22 AM Saturday March 30, 2019 to a report of an armed robbery at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 401 E Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a recognizable previous female offender concealed merchandise for sale on her person and was stopped by store employees while still in the store.
The offender threatened the employees with a Tazer, which she also brandished in the store.
The offender then left the business with the merchandise still concealed on her person and without paying for the merchandise.
The offender was last seen leaving the area in a silver minivan or a maroon SUV with an Illinois license plate. Determination of the full retail value of the merchandise taken is still under investigation.
The offender was described as a female/black, who was recognized by a store employee as a suspect in several other retail theft incidents at other Dick’s Sporting Goods stores. The suspect was further described as being in her early twenties, approximately 5’4” 120 LBS, wearing a Pink brand maroon hooded sweatshirt with “PINK” written in white, outlined letters across the front, matching maroon sweatpants, and a pink knit winter hat with a ball on top.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, March 30, 2019 between 10:18 AM and 10:21 AM. The elapsed time of the robbery was 0:03 (hours: minutes).
