1 DEAD IN MOTOR VEHICLE; 4 HURT IN CTA TRAIN
A car landed somehow on CTA Blue Line tracks and was struck by a westbound CTA Blue Line train Tuesday night in Rosemont.

Identity Released for Woman Killed in Vehicle Crash with CTA Blue Line Train Near Rosemont/O’Hare
Rosemont firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:34 PM Tuesday March 12, 2019 to a report of a car on the CTA Blue Line tracks hit by a train 41.982261, -87.875740 (5801 River Rd Rosemont, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car landed somehow on the CTA Blue Line tracks and was subsequently hit by a CTA train. Rosemont Fire Department was in command of the extrication and rescue operations. Chicago firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:00 p.m. to assist Rosemont firefighter/paramedics.
A female train operator in the front car of the CTA train was injured when she was thrown in the train during the crash impact.
The female patient in the passenger vehicle was extricated by 9:18 p.m. and was transported to an unspecified hospital where he was pronounced dead
Chicago Fire Battalion Chief 11 reported by 9:20 p.m. that Rosemont Fire had the situation under control; Chicago Squad 7 and Battalion Chief 11 and Special Operation Chief 5-1-5 from Chicago in service on scene.
There were a total of 5 patients: One patient in the passenger car and four patients in the CTA train car. The patient in the passenger car was an Advanced Life Support patient. One person in the CTA train car was also an Advanced Life Support patient. Three more patients in the train car were Basic Life Support patients.
Three patients were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital; one patient was transported to Resurrection Hospital. Initially the total patient count on scene and the patient count reported at hospitals did not match.
