Arlington Heights police received a report about 11:01 AM Tuesday February 19, 2019 of a vehicle burglary in the block of 1300 South Vail Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the victim’s unlocked 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The victim’s personal belongings were strewn about the vehicle. Reported taken was the victim’s cell phone and wallet containing approximately $250.00 cash and various credit cards.
A dark colored SUV traveling slowly through the area was later seen via review of video surveillance at the time of the event. Also, a subject was seen via video surveillance near the vehicle, attempting to open vehicle doors during the time of the event. The unknown subject was only described as wearing a light colored sweatshirt.
A Ford Escape was also burglarized in the same time frame.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 between 2:25 AM and 11:00 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 8:35 (hours: minutes).
