Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 5:45 a.m. February 9, 2019 to a report of shots fired at a residence in the block of 34600 North Gerberding Avenue near Long Lake Drive. The 911 caller indicated someone inside the home was shot.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the residence and conducted a search of the inside to locate the victim and any possible offenders. Deputies discovered two people had been shot, and both victims had already left the residence to drive to the hospital.
Preliminary investigation shows two adult males, wearing masks, armed with firearms, entered the residence and demanded money. At least one of the two armed men shot a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old man. The armed men then fled from the area. Both gunshot victims were guests at the residence.
Both gunshot victims are being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
