High 29°F with Impressive Snowfall Rates Sunday Morning
Already 3 inches of very light fluffy snow has fallen by 10:00 a.m. Sunday February 17, 2019, and another 3 inches of snow is possible by about 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. Another 2 inches of snow could fall by noon Sunday, bringing the total to 5 inches by noon. The trailing edge of the main snowfall may reach Arlington Heights by about noon. After noon Sunday, much lighter snow or flurries are expected to continue. There is a chance that another 2 inches of snow could fall between noon and midnight Sunday/Monday, which would bring the total accumulation to 7 inches by midnight. Arlington Cardinal Weather is forecasting a total accumulation of 5-6 inches by midnight.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all counties in northern Illinois except Cook, DuPage, Ford, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Livingston, and Will counties.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows extensive snow precipitation moving to the east-northeast over all of northern Illinois.
